We all know that the 1994 blockbuster Indian Musical Romantic Comedy ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ gave us some of the best soundtracks in Bollywood and almost all of them have attained a cult status. ‘Yeh Mausam Kaa Jadu Hai Mitwa, Naa Abb Dil Pe Kabu Hai Mitwa’ is one such song’ sung by our very own melody queen ‘Lata Mangeshkar’ along with S.P Balasubrahmanyam. Ram Lakshman’s brilliant composition and Dev Kohli’s vivacious lyrics make this the perfect track and will immediately lift up your mood. It was shot around the picturesque, hilly tea-estate of Coonoor in Tamil Nadu and forms an integral part of the movie as Pooja (Madhuri Dixit) falls in love with Prem (Salman Khan) through the course of this song. The only thing which turns to be a mismatch in the music video is the dress worn by the women which looked more like a Rajasthani Ghagra Choli.
Aaj Mausam Bada Beimaan Hai
Now here we have a song from the 1973 film Loafer which perfectly describes the interconnection between the human mind and its surroundings. Composed by the renowned music director Laxmikant Pyarelal, penned down by Anand Bakshi and sung by the outstanding Mohammad Rafi this track talks about the gloom and sadness in the environment, which signifies an upcoming storm. Superstars Dharmendra and Mumtaz give their best performances.
Kasto Mazza
How many of you remember this enchanting melody from the 2005 superhit Parineeta? This soundtrack is capable of transferring you into an entirely different world. It is a remarkable composition by an exceptionally talented composer Shantanu Moitra and has been sung by the shining stars of our playback industry Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam. ‘Kasto Mazza Hai’ has a combination of Nepali and Hindi lyrics by Swanand Kirkire, which adds a completely different dimension to it. The video shows an amazing ride on the famous toy train of Darjeeling over the hills covered with the lush green tea gardens and around the dense jungles. The little Nepali kids sing about the joys of a train ride and Saif Ali Khan playing the lead role is found mesmerised by the scenic beauty of the beautiful hill station, so he sings about the winds, the flowers and the chirpy weather around him.
Sawan Barse Tarse Dil
This one completely justifies the wonders of monsoon. Monsoon in a way refreshes the earth and makes it look fresher and greener. ‘Sawan barse Tarse Dil’ could be heard in the 1999 Hindi romance ‘Dahek-a burning passion’. No doubt that Sadhna Sargam and Hariharan sang this exceptionally sweet monsoon melody. It is unlike any other Monsoon track that you must have heard till now. The composition by Aadesh Shrivastav has a very pleasing charm to it and Majrooh Sultanpuri doesn’t lag behind with the lyrics. His lyrics are very apt to the theme of the track.
Suraj Hua Maddham
‘Suraj Hua Maddham, Chaand Jalne Laga, Aasmaan Ye Haai, Kyoon Pighalne Laga Main Thehra Raha, Zameen Chalne Lagi, Dhadka Yeh Dil, Saans Thamne Lagi’ are the famous lyrics from the hugely popular and well-loved 2001 movie ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’, starring Shahrukh Khan And Kajol. Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik’s prowess as established singers is thoroughly proven in this track composed by Sandesh Shandilya, Lalit Pandit, Jatin Pandit & Aadesh Shrivastav. The lyrics by Sameer & Anil Pandey describe the natural transformations taking place in the spectacular sky and how the sun and the moon look so majestic and magnificent in all their glory. The entire song has been shot around a few artificial pyramids.
Tera Hone Laga Hoon
From the not so well acclaimed 2009 movie ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, ‘Tera Hone Laga Hu’ is one of the most heart touching Bollywood songs heard in the recent times. You’ll surely end up falling in love with the lyrics which begin with “Shining In The Setting Sun Like A Pearl Upon The Ocean, Come And Feel Me/Come And Heal Me”. The warm and comforting rays of the sun, the sea and the spellbinding underwater world with the oyster and the pearl make you feel good as soon as you start listening to the song. Pritam Chakraborty again proves, how fine a music composer he is and Alisha Chinai, Joy Barua, Atif Aslam sing it incredibly well.

‘Gunji Si Hai Sari Fiza Jaise Bajti Ho Shehnaiyan, Lehrati Hai Mehki Hawa, Gungunati Hain Tanhaiyaan’ is a splendid number celebrating the maddening beauty of the divine earth and the lofty sky. Even though this song is from the not so famous 2004 film ‘Kyun! Ho Gaya Na’ starring Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi but Shankar Ehsaan Loy’s mind blowing composition, Javed Akhtar’s lyrics and Sadhna Sargam, Udit Narayan’s phenomenal singing have made it compete with the best Bollywood tracks of all times. Aishwarya Rai shot around the most fantabulous locations in India. The hills, plains, valleys and tea-estates make Aishwarya look more vibrant and vivacious.
