Be ready to get dragged out into the deep and dark Hindi noir thriller, ‘Monsoon Shootout’, which released today, on the 15th of December 2017. Noir thriller is a term used to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, which were quite popular in the early 1940’s to the late 1950’s. This mysterious and gloomy film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Sreejita De in the lead roles revolves around the life of Shiva, a rookie cop, who lives out two possible futures after a confrontation with a notorious hit man. There are three absolutely marvellous soundtracks in this movie.
Let us read the review.

Pal

‘Pal Kaisa Pal, Pal Mein Jaye Phisal’ is a soulful melody by the musical heartthrob Arijit Singh. Notable music composer Rochak Kohli, who launched himself with ‘Pani Da Rang’(2012), did a great job with the composition. Right from the prelude to the chorus, Arijit’s heart touching rendition would surely move you. Sumant Vadhera gave life to the song with his amazing lyrics and Kalyan Barua’s gentle guitar strumming is pleasing to the ears. Those of you who haven’t heard ‘Pal’ yet, should definitely give this heart-stirring melody a try.

Andheri Raat

‘Andheri Raat’, very aptly justifies the theme of the movie. It might not be a very soothing and light melody like ‘Pal’, but it is quite a high energetic number which expresses the intensity of the dark crime thriller. Kartik Krishnan, the lyricists Marathi rap is worth a mention. Aklesh Suktar and Rajiv Sundaresan do wonders with their singing skills, but Neha Bhasin’s vocal-skills remain a bit under-utilised. Viveick Rajagopalan and Mayur Narvekar composed the music keeping in mind the theme. On a whole, it is Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Sreejita De who cast a mysterious and intriguing spell over the music video with their brilliant acting.

Miliyo Re

This song is still under covers. Only the audio has been released on a few music platforms. Saregama music is still to launch the audio and video version of it on YouTube. This slow-paced & spooky music has been composed by Rochak Kohli, Viveick Rajagopalan and Mayur Narvekar. Exceptionally talented playback singers Monali Thakur and Rochak Kohli have attempted their best, with the singing. Deepak Ramona’s interesting lyrics set the creepy and spine-tingling mood. To be precise, this entire track describes some of the incidents from the movie.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s a master actor. Tannishtha and Sreejita have proved their impeccable acting skills as well. This crime thriller is a bit eerie and might send chills down your spine, but the songs are heartwarming and perfect.
