Have you heard about the recent novel ‘The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad’ by Twinkle Khanna? It was really well-received. ‘PadMan’ is a film based on the same novel. It took quite a while for Twinkle Khanna to convince Akshay Kumar to act in this awareness film, inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a Tamil Nadu based social activist who revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India, but finally, he agreed.
So, Buckle up, to read the GaanaPehchaana review about these entertaining songs from ‘Padman’.
Aaj Se Teri
Amit Trivedi is a phenomenal composer and has composed this fabulous song, ‘Aaj Se Teri’, which is the most trending song on Youtube at present. The lyrics by Kausar Munir are quite empathetic and Arijit Singh does total justice to this melody in his own style. The most rhythmic and melodious track in the entire album, ‘Aaj Se Teri’ is sure to win over a million hearts.
The Pad Man Song
This track glorifies the best assets of our great superhero, ‘Pad Man’. Mika Singh retains the mood and energy of the song with his superb singing, but the female voices in between are quite disappointing. Amit Trivedi, as usual, is fantastic with his composition and Kausar Munir has tried his best to write praises in favour of our saviour Padman, who is like a boon for millions of rural women.
Hu Ba Hu
‘Hu Ba Hu’ sounds like a perfect disco number. The pitch remains quite high throughout the song and Amit Trivedi donning the role of the composer as well as the singer completely slays it. The lyrics by Munir will give you hope. This melody blowing through your music system will make you dance like crazy. You’d see glimpses of Sonam Kapoor, as the vivacious girl Rhea, along with Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte.
Sayaani
This one’s a total girly song, sung by a whole gang of extremely talented girls like Jonita Gandhi, Yashita Sharma, Yashika Sikka and Rani Kaur. This women empowerment song is almost like a happy ode dedicated to millions of women around the world. The official video hasn’t been released yet, but Amit Trivedi and Kausar Munir have once again done a great job with the composition and the lyrics.
Saale Sapne
Saale Sapne is a happy go lucky melody, which emphasises on the unbeatable spirit of Padman. Mohit Chauhan, as well as the backing vocalists, Rajiv Sundaresan & Suhas Sawant, pour life into this beautiful track. You’ll get to witness the journey of Akshay Kumar along with his dear wife Radhika Apte. The peppy music and the catchy lyrics will uplift your mood, any-time you listen to it.
TIMES Magazine placed Arunachalam Muruganantham in their list of 100 Most Influential People in the world in 2014 and Akshay Kumar took a big leap, as he showed the guts to play a character, who is almost like a god for women, not only in some rural parts of India but the entire world. As underprivileged women all around the world have been tackling with this issue, which is a basic right.
