Hans Mat Pagli
This was the initial track to be released. The harmonic rhythm and the video make you travel through a beautiful journey into Keshav and Jaya’s life around rural India. The carts, trains, Bullock’s, tea shops etc are a few of the places in this song where Keshav and his lady love Jaya are seen before they get married. Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam’s amazing voice texture, music composer Vickey Prasad’s perfect composition and Sidharth Singh, Garima Wahal’s wonderful lyrics are worth appreciating in this song.
Rating 3/5
Bakheda
As the word, ‘Bakheda’ itself means some sort of trouble, so this banging number, second in the row after ‘Hans Mat Pagli’ talks about how love is the biggest trouble in the protagonist’s life, as he is already under planetary ill effects and gets married off to a buffalo. Finding the right wife for himself becomes a huge challenge for him. Sunidhi Chauhan and Sukhwinder Singh’s powerful voices add all the zing to this track and hats off to Vickey Prasad for the brilliant composition, Sidharth Singh, and Garima Wahal for putting together the cutting edge lyrics. Rating 4/5
Gori Tu Latth Maar
Gori Tu Latth Mar won the maximum positive reviews so far. T-series released the full Gori Tu Latth Mar video song around one week after the movie came out and we get to witness a mesmerizing riot of colours. Latth Maar as we know is a popular form of Holi played in the city of Mathura in India. The grief stricken Keshav asks Jaya to beat him up with the stick and free him of his wrong deeds towards her. This entire track creates a spellbinding audio-visual magic filled up of the bright and beautiful Indian colours and traditions. Siddharth Singh, Garima Wahal penned down the lyrics. Manas Shikhar the composer has put life to the song with his soulful tunes, whereas the extremely melodious Palak Muchal and our playback king Sonu Nigam have sung it. Rating 5/5
Subah Ki Train
Composed and sung by Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur ‘Subah Ki Train’ is quite pleasing to the ear. The video shows Keshav trying to make up for the absence of a toilet in his house to please his newly wed wife who has not been accustomed to a similar situation before. Though this was the last song on the album to release, it has a beautiful and refreshing tune to it. Finally, it’s Sidharth Singh and Garima Wahal’s lyrics which add a new dimension to the theme of this track. Rating 3/5
These were the four lovely melodies heard in ‘Toilet-Ek Prem Katha’ based on a real-life story. The surprisingly amazing tracks have been as much loved by the people as the character of Keshav who finally wins back his wife and changes the prevailing societal notions.
