In Fanney Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is seen in a glitzy, glamorous avatar after a long time. Anil Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Divya Dutta are all stars in their own right. Prashant Kumar “Fanney Khan” (Anil Kapoor) is a part-time vocalist in an orchestra and aspires to become a singer, but circumstances prevent him from being one. He names his newborn daughter, Lata after the name of the famous singer Lata Mangeshkar, with a lot of hope and aspiration.
Lata has a really good voice but is made fun of because she is overweight. She is a big fan of Baby Singh (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), a famous singer, who is fed up of her life as a star singer and wants a break. The movie is a spectacular musical.

Halka Halka
“Yeh Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai, Yeh Jo Pehla Pehla Suroor Hai, Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor Hai”, even though the lyrics have been tweaked a bit by Irshad Kamil, this song has been borrowed from the legendary “Halka Halka Suroor Hai” song by the Qawwali sensation Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s father. Amit Trivedi has composed the music and Sunidhi Chauhan sings it for Baby Singh, in her classy signature style. Rating: 3/5
Mohabbat
Mohabbat is an extraordinary composition by Tanishk Bagchi. It is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and is the film’s lead single. It is an out-and-out dance song, introducing our superstar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The hook line and lyrics by Irshad Kamil are good but the result, however, is a loud and overproduced mess, with all the cliches associated with contemporary Hindi dance music. Rating: 2/5
Fu Bai Fu
The hook line and chorus “Fu Bai Fu, Fu Gaadi Fu”, has been borrowed from a Marathi folk song. Lata Sharma, dancing with friends in the neighbourhood as her parents watch them from the balcony is the most picture perfect video song from the movie. Monali Thakur’s voice as Lata is absolutely perfect and fun to listen to. Rating: 4/5
Achche Din
The music by Amit Trivedi has this wonderfully mixed rhythm section consisting of synths, guitar, flute and a steady beat. The mellow song sung by Amit Trivedi, will soothe your ears and make you feel good. This song is Fanney Khan’s prayer to god. Fanney or Prashant Kumar works as a taxi driver and asks god about when his good days or achche din will start, Whether they will start soon or not? Rating: 4/5
Tere Jaisa Tu Hai
“Tere Jaisa Tu Hai, Mere Jaisa Mai Hu” is by far the best track in this album. Amit Trivedi discovered a new side to Monali Thakur, in the Lootera movie song, “Sawaar Loon”. Later, Shantanu Moitra chose her for the unlikely song “Chal” in “October”. Monali’s talent has always been put to the right use by great Music Directors. The way Monali’s voice soars high sounds beautiful. This song is quite similar to the “Let Me Go” song from the animated movie, “Frozen”. Rating: 5/5
In the end, we find Lata Sharma singing in place of Baby Singh for India Ki Awaaz and Baby Singh as well as Adir are seen to be on a vacation, while they claim to be big fans of Lata. We have a happily musically ever after ending to this movie.
